Review: Beyond kebab; Meyhouse’s unique Turkish flavors

This story was my first experience writing a thorough review of a restaurant. Being able to interview waiters and staff after the meal and learning of the story behind Meyhouse was unforgettable.  

College protests, encampments through the eyes of Paly alumni

Could Los Gatos’ new lunch program expand?

This story is my top story, because it was my first time reaching out to sources outside of Palo Alto High School, and also my first time having to write a story with another new staff writer rather than editor. I interviewed administration and faculty members from Los Gatos High School, as well as a renowned Chef from Chicago in order to produce a very well-rounded story. I received a lot of guidance in regards to the AP style and formatting of the story, so I was really appreciative to finally get it out. 

Board to hold special meeting denouncing hatred regarding Hamas attacks

This story was especially meaningful, as it showcases the strong and impassioned emotions of our community. It includes various perspectives and portrays the diversity of our community and their voices. 

Palmetto Superfoods brings delicious açaí to Town and Country

I am an avid acai bowl lover, and I was really excited to write this story. We reached out to the CEO, and got a really nice interview. Being able to sit down with the CEO and hear his story and journey to opening the chain of restaurants was really inspiring, and I really enjoyed being to get the story out. 

Seniors pull ahead further in first Spirit Week rally

Spirit Week is one of my favorite things to color. The vibrant outfits, school spirit, and energy is unmatched. This story is particularly significant as I was able to incorporate multimedia aspects into the story with many photos, and the Instagram post also performed well because of the photos.
